Does The United States Need Another Political Party?

Does the United States need another political party as an additional choice? More than one has already asked this question even before Elon Must decided to launch the political party "America Party". Thereby, is Elon Must right to launch his political party? During its existence as an autonomous and then independent country, the United States has known quite a few political parties, from the Federalist Party (1789) through the Democratic Party (1828), Republican Party (1854), to the Greeen Party (2001), and now America Party; but among those who show resilience and dominance are the two parties that everyone knows today: the Democratic Party and the Republican Party.

These two parties, Democratic and Republican, were built on very distinct ideologies. The Democratic Party has been rooted in ambiguous or multi-faceted ideologies: it wants to be conservative, liberal, populist, etc. In fact, it is not difficult to recognize democrats as clever politicians and hypocrites, but to be up to the task of carrying out this multifaceted policy, you have to be a cunning or a fine politician. On the other hand, the Republican Party was based on anti-slavery principles and became the main opponent of the Democratic Party. It was, in fact, the anti-slavery activists, the elders of the Whig and Free Soil Parties, etc., who were at the basis of the launch of the Republican Party.

As we can see, each of these major parties has its own ideologies and ways of seeing politics within the United States and elsewhere. However, with Trump coming to power, the Republican Party is a bit lost in its internal politics, and this misguidance can cause harm to the country. As it was said somewhere in this article, for so many years, these two parties have dominated and influenced American political life and their contributions to making the United States what it is today are enormous. To return to our original question, does the United States need another political party? To answer this question, we must be prepared to balance the advantages and disadvantages.

The answer is that there are already third political parties in the United States. These third parties include the Black Panther, Libertarian, Constitution, Reform parties, to name but a few, apart from the Democratic and Republican parties. These third parties have built on clear ideologies and principles, but the American political system remains a two-party system even today. Therefore, because of its two-party nature, the system is very rigid and does not really leave voters with any choice. Of course, a third political party of both size as the Democratic and Republican parties could act as an additional choice in favor of the voters who have condemned to the submission of the two dominant parties, but we can see that in the Senate, the House of Representatives, and local representatives, a separation of power between more than two groups or parties, and this can make the country difficult to govern.

As far as Elon Must's third political party, America Party, is concerned, there is no future ahead of it, because a party without ideology and theory that draws its foundation on individual economic interests and the ego between two friends who become sworn enemies is only the result of madness.
